Yves Michaud‘s latest book, “L’art, c’est bien fini”. Essai sur l’hyperesthétique et les atmosphères has just been published. Reflecting on both the “vaporization” of the art – i.e. the replacement of concrete artworks with installations, environments and multimedial devices – and the increasing aestheticization of our lives, the author explores the transformation of aesthetic experience from frontal to atmospheric, relating the transition to a hyperaesthetic sensibility to the end of the “Grand Art”.
On September 20, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 18.30 p.m. AEST, the interdisciplinary symposium “more-than-sound. Exploring contemporary themes in sound studies” will be held on youtube at this link.
The symposium, which is organised by the RMIT University, will focus on four themes investigated by today’s sonic scolarship and concerning the organization of sound in public spaces: sonic cities, curated sound, embodied sounds, sonic ambiance.

On 29 and 30 September, 2021 in Portbou (Spain) a seminar on Benjamin’s radio writings will take place to investigate the use and the potential of radio today.
